Ebbor Gorge walk

Activity Type:

  • Walking

Start date:

26/04/2015

Details (public view):

I propose a walk on the western edge of the Mendips which will include walking through a forest and up through the limestone cliffs of Ebbor gorge, fantastic views on a clear day, connecting with a section of The west Mendip way, experiencing ancient drove roads and a pub stop in Priddy. This a relatively flat walk and will start from the car park in Ebbor gorge woods which is on a road called Deerleap. The nearest post code is BA5 3BA which is the Victoria Inn pub on Pelting drive in Priddy. The car park is about a mile and a half from the pub and is on the left on a very steep hill. it's a lovely and pleasant 9 mile walk and will probably take about 6 hours with faffing time and a pub stop. So, let's meet at our start point at 10:15 for a 10:30 kick off. We will stop in the pub halfway round but it might be best if you still bring food and drink for snacking on. Please wear suitable walking foot wear and bring anything else that will make your walk more comfortable and enjoyable experience. Please get in touch if you have any questions.
