After a wonderful sailing trip to the Cyclades Islands in June 14, we’re headed back to Greece on a sailing adventure exploring the Dodecanese, a more southerly set of Greek Islands located in the south east Aegean Sea, nestled up against the Turkish coast. These islands are classed as the sunniest corner in Greece and are wonderfully diverse, with sandy beaches, picturesque harbours, Venetian architecture and an abundance of historical sites comprising Byzantine churches and medieval castles just waiting to be discovered. The Dodecanese actually has far more islands accessible by yacht than the 12 that are widely quoted, each island with its own unique character, that every stop will offer something new. With a good wind behind us, we will sail away from the tourist track to explore the peaceful and unspoilt outer islands with their beautifully warm, crystal clear waters and welcoming traditional Greek tavernas, where we can delight in delicious Greek food and culture and enjoy some of the greatest sunsets on earth. Crewing the yachts ourselves, there will be plenty of opportunity to improve your sailing skills or indeed learn new sailing skills for the first time and also to swim and snorkel in turquoise waters and to explore all that these islands have to offer. We’ve managed to secure three larger and very beautiful sailing yachts again to allow for a more comfortable sailing experience. These will not be at full capacity so there will be plenty of space! Some evenings we will moor in picturesque fishing harbours and marinas and have dinner ashore, whilst others we may eat on board...... everyone is expected to muck into the chores of the boat in some way whether it’s crewing the yachts, cooking, or making the G&Ts! This is a great opportunity to learn some new or improve on your sailing skills. No experience is necessary so complete novices are very welcome as well as experienced sailors.
