Join us on this stunning ride through the Chepstow green tunnel and along the Wye valley to Tintern. The route will then take us up into the hills above Tintern and into the Severn valley. The route is varied terrain from Gravel track river path to hard earth sections to tarmac country roads. There is a small uphill bridleway section which will need to be walked so Cleats if worn will need to be covered up possibly? The ride is suitable for experienced cyclists as there are a number of long steep climbs on tarmac lanes. It is suitable for road/hybrid bikes with 28 millimetre tyres or greater or gravel bikes. It is not suitable for thin road tyres. E BIKES ARE ALSO WELCOME....bikes are also welcome....If there are any doubts please contact the organiser. En route there are a number of lovely stops for refreshment and the views are to die for.
The tunnel itself is only open from April til End September because of breeding bat populations. Bright lights within the tunnell are prohibited but there is some lighting to enable a way through.
