Kayakers:

If you have completed your BCU One and Two Star flat water kayaking qualifications (or are currently undertaking training for them) and want to progress to the exciting world of moving whitewater, then this weekend is a must for you.  It is also a requirement to complete this training in preparation for AOAC whitewater paddling trips.  You can also use it as a Moving/Whitewater Safety & Skills Refresher if you enjoyed one of these training weekends in the past or it has been a while since you have paddled on moving water.

We will be based at a modern bunkhouse in Lydbrook, Forest of Dean which is a convenient 10 minute drive to the Symonds Yat Rapids training area and a very convenient 30 seconds walk to the recently refurbished Jovial Colliers pub which is attached to the bunkhouse!

The cost of the weekend is £45.00 which covers your accommodation, full English breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, Saturday afternoon tea/coffee/cake and a generous delicious buffet on the Saturday evening.

If you are a student and need to hire Club equipment you will need to arrange this via the Equipment Officer. The relevant information and details can be found on the website under “AOAC equipment for hire”.  You will need to arrange with the Equipment Officer to pay for, collect and drop-off your hired equipment as well as transportation to and from the bunkhouse/Symonds Yat.  The cost of hiring your equipment will be £17.00.

There will be additional costs once at Symonds Yat for parking and launch fees on both the Saturday and Sunday.
