Ski and Board Trip 2019

Activity Type:

  • Skiing/Boarding

Start date:

02/03/2019 to 09/03/2019

Details (public view):

This year’s ski and boarding trip takes the AOAC to Austria, and the iconic resort of St Anton, consistently rated among the top five resorts in the Alps. An authentic Tyrolean mountain village, with classic chocolate-box icing-sugar wooden and stone chalets, St Anton is, however more than just a pretty face. It boasts 305km of pistes, 200km of off-piste itinerary runs, and 55km² of challenging off-piste terrain, not to mention its fame as the spiritual home of après-ski, thanks to the infamous Mooserwirt and Krazy Kanguruh bars.

Ideal for skiers and boarders of all levels, there is a good range of blue and red runs, while for the more advanced, the vast range of itinerary and off-piste runs ensures that no one will be bored whatever their level.

This year, the AOAC has exclusive use of Chalet Regina, well located at the Nasserein end of town, just a couple of minutes' walk to the Nasserein gondola and, usually, there's a ski run-off to around 50 metres from the back door. Nasserein itself has a few relaxed bars on your doorstep, while you can walk to St Anton's centre, with its plethora of bars and restaurants and live music venues, in well under 10 minutes - and it's virtually flat all the way too.

Rooms are twin share, all en-suite. As well as the full area lift pass, the price of the holiday includes 3-course evening meals for 6 nights, including lashings of free chalet wine, as well as afternoon tea and cakes and continental buffet breakfast with cooked option. The chalet staff’s night off leaves you free to sample the best traditional Tyrolean cuisine, or the local pizzeria, or a just enjoy liquid dinner of Jaegar bombs, whichever takes your fancy!.

For relaxing after a hard day on the slopes, there’s a comfortable lounge on the ground floor and a chilled out space for board games on the top floor, not to mention the wellness suite with sauna, infrared cabin and whirlpool bath, as well as a treadmill if you haven’t had enough exercise for the week – and all for the AOAC’s exclusive use.

This year, we have JUST 30 SPACES available (10 less than last year), and given the popularity of the AOAC’s annual ski trip, the trip is highly likely to sell out straightaway. The cost, including an all-area lift pass is £1,268 and your place can be secured with an initial deposit of £350, the balancing payment being due in November.

The event will be launched at the new members evening and social on the 4th July at the Arnolfini bar, 16 Narrow Quay, Bristol. If you want to come and join us, or find out more, please come along to our ski trip social on 4th July, and if you can’t make it, send us an email after 8pm on 4th July for details of how to pay your deposit in order to guarantee your place. Places are on a first come first served basis and priority will be given to those attending the event.

Online payments are preferred to cheques these days so you are simply required to sign your name and commit to paying the deposit by BACS with a week.
