The only way is up...or down! Lockdown paddling in the Bristol Channel and other local waterways. Online talk and Q&A session. Over the last year we've discovered that there is some excellent paddling to be had locally. Until last year, the Bristol Channel might not have been a first choice for sea kayakers, but it is surprisingly interesting, has a remote feel about it, and paddling up under the 2 Severn bridges something special. Or the alternative is down to Flatholm and Steepholm. Both directions present navigational challenges and the hazard of crossing the shipping lane - some very big boats visit Avonmouth! As well as the chanel, there are local waterways such as the river Avon and Kennet and Avon canal. In this online talk I'll cover some of the practical and planning considerations of these trips, as well as plenty of photos to show why they will be worth doing even when we are finally out of lockdown.
