This is the SECOND session based around Ashton Court and Leigh Woods and will include a fun group training session at the beginning on how to complete the basic manoeuvres on a mountain bike. If you couldn’t do the first session you can still come to this one!

It will last about 1.5 to 2 hours depending on how people feel.

For this event you will need to book your place by contacting me in advance and is the first of several evenings.

Because we are training the session is weather dependent and may be cancelled if rain is forecast.

Meeting at the cafe Ashton Court top car park. Free on road parking North Road, Leigh Woods BS8 3PL. 6:30pm start.

Different to road riding the basics will include:

Standing whilst riding, changing gear on the move, easier cornering, how to position yourself on the bike, better braking actions, tackling obstacles and many other techniques to help you have fun on the trails.

We will then go on to the trails to put in to practice what you have tried in the training. The pace will be suitable for all and is not a race or competitive and it is about find out if you like mountain biking or developing what you already know.

There will be several MTB trainers who are there to help and advise and ensure you get the most out of the evening.

It would be ideal if you have your own bike but if you don’t please contact me as soon as possible to see if we can arrange bikes either on loan or at a small hire charge.

Absolute Perquisites:

You have ridden a bike before in the recent past.

You have a helmet that fits. (No helmet no ride) Again we might be able to help if you don’t have one.

Bike shoes, Trainers or rubber soled light walking shoes. The stiffer the sole the better. Very thin soft soled shoes are not good.

Cycling, Walking, tech tee shirt.

Padded shorts, normal shorts, running leggings. Comfortable and easy to move in.

Wet weather gear if it looks a little wet.
