Introduction to sea kayaking, aimed at paddlers at Explore (2*)  standard, you are not required to have completed the Explore course but please contact the organiser before booking, to check that you're at the required standard. After completing this course you would be eligible to come on club sea kayaking trips at "improver" level.

Saturday will be spent learning boat handling skills that are specific to sea kayaks, as well as rescue drills and towing. In the evening we may cover some of the theory for journey planning (tides, wind and swell, charts and map reading for sea kayakers).

On the Sunday we will put these skills into practice with a journey along the idyllic coastline around the Isle of Purbeck (weather permitting).
