This is the final opportunity of the year to complete this course with AOAC. The Paddle UK Discover Award is the replacement for BCU 1 Star. This award will be taken in a kayak.

The course is aimed at beginners and you will learn the basic skills necessary for a fun and safe time on the water.

The course teaches practical skills including how to stay in control and move your craft in the required direction as well as basic safety and rescue.

The course also looks at decision making and develops an understanding of the factors which affect your paddling, including clothing, equipment and the environment.

This award will allow you to progress to the Paddle UK Explore Award in a Kayak, which the club will also be running this summer.

Please note that you must have FULL membership (rather than introductory membership) to join this course.

The course runs on Wednesday evening, plus all day Saturday and Sunday.
