Activity Type:

  • Other

Start date:

26/11/2019

Details (public view):

This three hour British Canoeing foundation module introduces coaches to the role of mental skills in paddlesport development and performance. It considers the concepts of mental skills training, imagery training, concentration training, optimal arousal and arousal control strategies in coaching. The ideas are equally applicable to other club activities, e.g. mountain biking or climbing and the delivery will be widened to include them. Trip leaders and non-coaches wanting to develop themselves, and others with interests in the psychological aspects of outdoor activities are also welcome. The learning style will be interactive, with opportunities to discuss themes with other course participants.

The cost for British Canoeing (BC) members is £23. A BC attendance certificate will be provided. BC coaches will extend their CPD for 18 months by attending.

Please note the cost of the provider has been split evenly between all attendees.  The cost of the attendance certificate which is included in the cost is £5 for BC members and £10 for non BC members which is why there is a difference in price for this event. Unfortunately British Canoeing do not allow the option of attending without paying for the certificate.
