The one star is a clear stepping stone to becoming a paddler.  Designed as a basic award, the one star is the level people would typically reach after 6 hours of quality water time.  Within AOAC the sessions are slightly longer as they are intended to quickly develop the standard of foundation skills for future courses.  The sessions provide the opportunity for members to have a fun, sociable and enjoyable introduction to kayaking whilst learning a new skill.

Those who pass their 1 Star will have the prerequisite award to take part in one of the follow on 2 courses starting in June and July.
