Social Activities

AOAC is all about the social aspects, as well as the physical activities. The club organises social activities locally, possibly connected to a nearby event such as one of Bristol’s many free festivals.

The residential trips away are always sociable, whether camping, in a hotel, at a hostel or bunk house, or in luxury forest lodges with hot tubs. Some trips are abroad, many are in the UK, some near, and some far. There are short and long weekends, and also week-long holidays.

A residential trip likely involves evenings making friends, playing games, planning the next day’s activities, cooking a shared meal, or late night chats around an open fire.

The club organises trips for all budgets, but they all provide the chance to meet other members, make friends and have fun. Whether you want to play games, take part in communal activities, organise something shared, or just enjoy being with other like-minded people, the club has something for you.

We organise trips to places such as the Brecon Beacons, Dartmoor, Exmoor, the Lake District, the Cairngorms, the Peak District, Purbeck, the Alps, the Yorkshire Dales, and anywhere else that there are outdoor activities to enjoy.

And many trips find time to enjoy a cream tea or other local refreshment…
