Details (public view):
A 'hut-to-hut' route crossing five valleys and taking in some of the most dramatic scenery in the French Pyrenees; mountain lakes, dramatic cirques, high plateaus and rocky passes. The route passes the famous Cirque de Gavarnie, a glacial horseshoe with 1.4km high cliffs and the highest European waterfall outside Norway. There will be opportunities to go to the top of two peaks: Petite Vignemale (3,032m) and Pimene (2,801ms).
You will need to be able to walk for up to 7 hours per day in mountainous terrain and be comfortable staying in mountain huts.
Deposit £150 to reserve your place. The full cost will be around £400 plus travel to France.
